He is well-respected in the village and seen as a source for practical advice and common sense. Good with things, he’s less capable with emotions and feelings.

Strong-armed into working for the family business – in the hope that he might one day inherit it – JEET is a frustrated mechanic who has always wanted to be a radio DJ, but he does get some occasional cover work at the local Community Radio station. He’s also confused about his sexuality …

JEET’s beloved Aunty PIYA, sister of Arjun’s late wife, SIMRAN, is a real trouble-maker, who has never recovered from her sister “stealing” Arjun, who was meant to be her husband in an arranged marriage. Suspicious about the state of her sister’s marriage prior to Lockdown, she blames Arjun for her death.

The matriarch of Greenborne. Her family once owned the Greenborne House, now converted into luxury flats, in one of which she now lives, For many years the Head Teacher at the village school, EVIE knows everyone. She is stern but fair, with a strong sense of the way things should be done and a powerful fidelity to the Past.

EVELYN’s youngest daughter. Unlike her sister SIMONE, who escaped Stateside, LISA found herself returning home after University, and now works as the Chef at the local pub – the Fox & Dragon. Lisa has emerged from under her mother’s shadow during Evelyn’s Covid-inspired absence and will find it difficult to cope with her mother’s domineering ways. 

Is a man prone to sudden wild enthusiasms for new ventures that disappear as quickly as they arrive. Determined to be a better father than his own absentee one, MATT is having problems adjusting to the relative middle classness of the village. He’s also a terrible hypochondriac…

A force of nature, TANNY runs the village shop and Post Office, having moved from the city to give the children experiences (and an education) that they could never have had as inner-City children. Unfortunately, Tanny’s content happiness in their new home life isn’t shared by her family. The kids (a boy and a girl of primary school age) yearn for their friends and their old life in the City. And as for her husband…

One of Evie’s many ex-pupils, SANDRA runs Slice & Trim, a hairdressers/coffee shop. Sandra recently left her husband to come out as lesbian. She is BEVERLEY’s best mate and confident in the village. A trained stylist, Sandra runs the business with her much younger partner…

A mysterious young lady who rarely talks about her past. A baker and cook, she’s in charge of the food at the café, but struggles with social niceties. She has an unerring knack to rub people up the wrong way. She even manages to fall out with DAISY, who gets on with everyone!

FARHAD (Iranian) claims to be 60-something, but he is exotically ageless. He is an Artist (oil painter) who lives and works in the converted Old School House. He’s very good-looking, but no-one can quite make him out. Is it possible that Farhad is not who he appears to be at all?

The station manager at the Community Radio Station – Greenborne FM. A proud Scot, and an attractive young man, LOGAN is a dab hand at DIY and picks up extra work as a handyman in the area. Although a regular at the Fox and Dragon, Logan’s a bit of a man of mystery. No-one knows much about his past.

The local Vicar – an energetic, bubbly character who will do anything for anyone as long as you don’t ever, ever mention the Vicar of Dibley to her. MAGGIE is wiry, fit, holds a Black belt in a martial art, rides a Harley and rocks a couple of interesting tattoos but, despite this, she is aggressively old school when it comes to her faith and her role in the village.
